Geography Of The Edgartown

As per the records of the United States Census Bureau, Edgartown occupies the overall region of 122.7 square miles which is 318 kilometers per square. Out of this occupied region, 27 square miles, which his 70 kilometers per square, is consisted of the dry land while the rest of the 95.8 square miles, which is 248 kilometers per square, is covered with water.

Edgartown is positioned as the number one hundred and three out of three hundred and fifty one communities in Commonwealth by the covering land region and is the beigest town as per the land region in Dukes County. Edgartown shares the border with Nantucket Sound in the northeast and east direction, Atlantic Ocean in the south direction, West Tisbury in west and east and Oak Bluffs in the north direction while it also has a common corner with Tisbury. The actual position of the Edgartown lies at the eastern end of Martha's Vineyard which is also named as down island. 

This place also takes in the little island of the Chappaquiddick, sometimes linked with the rest of Martha'a Vineyard just by blockade seashore which can be broken in the times of hurricanes and tempest. Chappaquiddick is estranged from the town hub by Edgartown Harbor and Katama Bay.

Katama is the south central area of the Edgartownwhich shares the borders with Katama Airpark, the Katama Farm, the Herring Creek Farm and the 2 resorts.
